1. Is Make a Difference Foundation a public charitable trust?

MADF is a registered as a Trust with the sub-registrar in Chennai under a deed of trust deed (Doc no. 1068) on 2nd December 2011. MADF is registered as a Public Charitable Trust u/s 12AA of the Income Tax Act, 1961, with PAN no AADTM1343B, effective 22nd November 2013 vide DIT(E)No.2(602)/13-14/Sl.no3/14-15 dated 25th April 2014.

2. Are donations to MADF eligible for deduction u/s 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961?

MADF received its approval u/s 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961 with effect from 10th July 2014 vide letter CIT/(E)No2(602)/13-14 dated 19th February 2015 allowing donations to MADF eligible for deductions against taxable income under the Income Tax Act, 1961.

3. Are the accounts of MADF independently audited?

The accounts of MADF is maintained by our COO, and is independently audited by R. Sundar & Associates, Chartered Accountants, Adyar, Chennai. MADF is obligated to file its annual income tax returns to maintains it exempt status as a public charitable trust under the Income Tax Act, 1961.

4. Can I donate to a specific cause and can MADF confirm that it will utilise those funds for that specific objective?
You can direct MADF to utilise your funds to your cherished cause. We will provide you with sufficient evidence of the application of funds towards that objective.

5. I would like to volunteer and support through sharing skill or knowledge? Can MADF help in supporting this?
There are many ways to get involved with MADF. You can be fundraising champion by conducting local events or you can share your skill to train a group of students or unskilled workers. See our Get involved section for more details.

6. How can I seek financial aid from MADF?
If you would like to seek financial aid from MADF, please fill up the downloadable form in the homepage and complete all details and email it to us at admin@madftrust.org with supporting documents.

7. Can I donate if I don’t have an Indian bank account?

For foreign donors, please donate through your NRO account or through your friends and relatives in India.
